Refresh Handmade Natural Laundry Powder
Refresh Handmade Natural Laundry Powder 17.5 oz 25 loads per container (40 cents per load)
Have you ever looked at the ingredient panel of your laundry detergent and wondered what the heck are all those ingredients are? Have you been looking for a more natural product for you and your family? You're not alone. Refresh Handmade Natural Laundry Powder is made from simple and pure ingredients. Refresh Handmade Natural Laundry Powder starts off like any other cold process soap with just coconut oil, lye and water. Because coconut oil soap is highly cleansing, it's perfect for laundry. In addition to coconut oil soap, Refresh laundry powder has washing soda, baking soda, boric acid and essential oils. Most of all, what's not in Refresh laundry powder are harsh chemicals!
Refresh Handmade Natural Laundry Powder is a vegan and gluten free product that naturally whitens whites and cleans deep set in stains. Each container of Refresh Handmade Natural Laundry Powder comes with a stain stick, a 1 tablespoon scoop and instructions to make your own fabric softener.
Refresh Handmade Natural Laundry Powder has an uplifting scent that is clean and fresh. Ever wake up in the morning feeling stuffy? Morning stuffiness is related, in part, to dust mites who feed upon dead skin cells. Gross! Dust mite dander is known to cause allergies. It's recommended that you not make your bed first thing in the morning, instead, leave your bed sheets pulled back so that the body sweat has time to evaporate. As your bed linens dry out, the dust mites will die. Refresh Laundry Powder contains Eucalyptus oil which is great for washing bed linens and may assist with dust mite reduction. Wash your bed linens in Refresh Laundry Powder, don't make your bed right away and wake up feeling refreshed!
Why use a natural laundry powder
How well does it work? A friend of mine says it removed set in stains and whitened her husband's work T-Shirts (he's a contractor). Recently my husband washed our dark laundry in hot water. A brand new pair of jeans came out of the dryer with purple stains all over them. I was so upset! I used the stain stick on all the spots and then made a concentrated soak with the laundry powder and very hot water. The pink stains were gone after a long soak and regular wash. I was shocked of course. I mean have you ever gotten set in stains out of laundry that has gone into the dryer? Amazing!
If you want to cut back on the chemicals in your home, using a natural laundry powder is what you need. Because I suffer from contact dermatitis and have reacted harshly to commercial products, I've had to eliminate much of the usual household chemicals. Since switching to a natural laundry powder, I haven't had a reaction. Furthermore, Refresh Laundry Powder is made in a sustainable way.
Natural fabric softener for the rinse cycle and dryer
Rather than using a chemical laden dryer sheet, why not try an all natural alternative? In addition to eliminating harsh detergents, throwing out your fabric softener and dryer sheets will help you achieve a healthier home. Using the recipe included to make your own fabric softener will leave your clothes soft and wrinkle free. Another way to soften laundry is to use a 1/4 cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle.
Besides using the natural fabric softener in the wash, the fabric softener can be used as a dryer sheet. Soak a soft cloth in the fabric softener and toss it in with the wet laundry to reduce static. The use of a wool dryer ball in the dryer will help decrease the drying time. Other household items that work well in the dryer is a ball of aluminum foil or tennis balls. Less drying time saves power therefore saving money. As a result of reducing power, you'll be reducing your carbon footprint.
Since you'll have leftover dryer sheets, you're probably wondering what to do with them all. Commercial dryer sheets clean soap scum very well. Use them to clean the shower!
